GROUPS

PLEASE NOTE: Groups and studies will not be meeting at the Wilmington campus until further notice so that we can house relief workers. Groups may continue to meet in homes. In any case, please stay in touch with your group, care for one another, and if possible, serve our local community together.

The Christian life is lived in relationship with God and others. We need to belong and to be known. So Port City Church places a high value on groups. We learn in groups, we grow in groups, and we serve in groups. How can you arrange your schedule to be a part of Christ-centered community?

social connection around the person of Jesus

Groups can be organized around the dinner table, a common interest, a stage of life, a neighborhood or area of town, a ministry activity, or a vocation. Most groups meet weekly, others less frequently. Many use technology to stay connected between meetings.

Some groups use the series-based materials provided by Port City Church. Others read books together, work through purchased studies, or have conversations about their devotional times. Most groups meet in homes, restaurants, coffee shops, offices, or other off-campus locations.

For starting your faith journey, learning the basics, learning how to engage with Scripture, or acquiring skills, we offer special study groups that meet on-campus on Sundays and Thursday evenings. You can find examples here. Visit What's Next before or after any service to see what's available.

Groups are such an important part of who we are that we wouldn’t want childcare costs to interfere with regular involvement. We can offer childcare reimbursement to those who need it.

TOPICS

Topics is a drop-in group for people who are new, travel a lot, or who haven't found a regular group yet. Every meeting is different but Topics is a great place to connect with others in a Christ-centered environment. We meet on-campus Thursday evenings at 6:30 PM. No advance preparation is required.
